I have the following machine:
Operating System Windows 98 SE (build 4.10.2222)
Processor 120 megahertz Cyrix MII
BIOS: American Megatrends 062600 07/15/95
RAM: 32MB
and i was wondering what the biggest hard disk i could put in it, would be?

I know for sure not bigger than 137GB because I can't possibly see how it could support 48-bit LBA, lol.

the motherbard is tx pro II.

My PC came with 2 x 250GB drives.
You could really do with more RAM

It's usually listed in the motherboard manual. Max processor speed, max RAM, max HD Size should also be there. Check that

all the components we have aquired (got) where savalaged so we have a limited budget to make this machine useful, as we are going to mod it into something, that doesn't need that much power. We will be doing a few upgrades.
I doubt we have the manual, but i will check on google.

Definitely no bigger than 137GBs. Didn't think anyone was still using Win98. there are ways of getting a newer OS for minimal (read: no) cost. Then it'd be a simple matter of an add-in card to support larger drive size (which I've seen included in the same box as the hard drive).
