mmhmmm...the general layout of the website is OK, but I feel that you need a DTD (Document Type Definition) in your HTML. I would also like to see the HTML being made Valid XHTML Transitional. This gives your website a wider accessibility range to a wider range of browsers.

Your html needs a bit of a cleanup. I see loads of tag properties and empty tags. For the site to be validated so it is more accessible, it needs to have a clean, valid HTML structure. When I ran Dreamweavers "Clean up HTML command" (ok, i'll admit), It removed 40 empty tags. When I edited the code I found a few more empty tags and such like. Tag properties such as "bgcolor="#ebebeb"" can be put in CSS instead.

Also, in Firefox, above the lines "Onlinelance Connects You With Professionals" and "Project types" the top border line doesn't appear. However in Internet Explorer, they do.

Anyhow, the site overall is ok - but I think you should put in a XHTML 1.0 Transitional DTD or atleast clean up your HTML. You could also put in a "HTML 4.1" DTD if you don't want to clean the code up even more so it validates as XHTML....... :D

Oh yer...my websites are: www.jamierees.co.uk (ok, I know i'm saying about your html - this one is full of it) which i'm planning on re designing soon. The other one is www.jamierees.net if you want to have a look.

I agree with Weazel re: the html.

If you want to attract web professionals, then I think it's worthwhile making sure your own code cuts the mustard.

The html has a very 'retro' look about it to be honest.

The site itself looks quite nice, if somewhat 'templatey'

I'd recommend replacing the dropdown menu with a css solution.

Oh, and won't AOL be a tad miffed at your use of the running man logo?

Kindest regards,

Gary
