Windows 98se

I have 98 regular, where can I get the upgrade to Windows 98se? It seems that a lot of hardware requires it as a minimum and I have two computers with just plain ol' 98.

It's been a while, but I think you just have to "buy" it. I don't think it was an update like XP's SP1 & 2. If that comes to be the case, you may as well just go for 2000 pro.

I keep a copy of 98SE hanging around because so many people still have it. I'd be more than glad to burn you one if you send me a blank CD and cover the postage for me to send it to you. Let me know if you're interested.

No problem whackaxe. Right click on My Computer and then properties. It will either say Windows 98 or Windows 98 Second Edition.

Craig, someone already offered to do that for me, but there is the problem of a cd-key. Also, we don't allow such transfers of illegal software on this forum. :rolleyes:

if that's no problem, i know a guy who could send you W2K Pro and/or XP Pro.

wouldn't it be grate if Billy Boy made a little christmas-gesture and allowed unrestricted copying and distribution of windowsversions that are no longer supported by Microsoft?

True - Micro$hot aren't interested in copies of their outdated software, like Windows 98. They're more interested in piracy of Windows XP and such like....as you already know. :thumbsup:
