I need to rotate a single image by 90 degree acw before I display the image on the page.

I do not want to create a second image file that has been rotated in a photo editor.

you cannot do this client-side without ActiveX (Win IE only). you really need a serverside language to do this!

FYI: Filters, Transitions, and VML are not ActiveX objects.

yes, they are. VML maybe not, but the rest are! in anycase, they're all WinIE only :(

Binary behaviors, to be specific... well ok everything IE is an ActiveX object (in one way or another), yet safe-for-scripting controls and behaviors are enabled normally. :thumbsup:

Pls try the following,

<img name="images2" src="yourphoto.jpeg">
images2.style.filter = 'progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.BasicImage(Rotation=1)';

Rotation value = 0,1,2,3 => 0 90 180 270 clockwise.
