View Full Version : OS X vs. OS 10 (???)
Just ran across a job description which sounds very emphatic about knowing both OS X and OS 10 -- is there a difference? Thought they were synonymous.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Thorough understanding and demonstrated experience in ALL of the following systems, applications, and areas:
• Mac OS 10 and OS X Operating Systems
• Blah, Blah, Blah...

Weird. It's written X, but pronounced 10... That's the only difference... :)

That looks like what happens when an HR person, rather than a Techie writes the job description. I can hear the conversations now:
Boss to Techie 1 : What would the applicant need to be good at?
Techie 1: OS 10.
Boss to Techie 1 : Thanks!
< boss leaves and finds Techie 2 >
Boss to Techie 2: What would the applicant need to be good at?
Techie 2: OS X ("ex")
Boss to Techie 2: Great! Thanks!
how very sad, but so easily done...
