window.open

I'm using this method window.open, to create a "pop up window", which us successfull, but my problem is that from that "pop up window", I'm trying to close it and open a fix page in the browser that open my "pop up window"... but actually is closing my pop up window and is opening a new browser with my new fix page. and I don't want that.
Does anybody can help me with this?.

can we see the code you're using?

play with this:
opener.location.href="BLAH.htm";
self.close();

Thanks, it worked, but will work if I put in my code "opener.location.href='page.htm';window.close();" if I type the with self.close(); it doesn't work right. Thank you very much.
