Go here
http://junenk.home.comcast.net/haffner/index.html

And view the source...

You should see an image array for Action A!!!!
(Action A is the image that does not change when you mouseover.)

I want to make ActionA change after the five second timeout, but it is not working.

What is my problem?

For one, you are using the same global variables names in both this script and your navigation script which are conflicting with each other...

var the_timeout;
var index = 0;

Try turning on error reporting...

The name of your array is: ActionA_images = new Array();
But you have:
Line 21: actionA_images[0] = new Image();

Also, you should use: document.images['IMAGE_NAME].src
Rather than: window.document.IMAGE_NAME.src

Lastly; there is an error being thrown in your external navigation script: images is null or not an object

But I am not inclined to open and look thru that file until you at least fix these problems you posted about... I would suggest that you create another example page which only contains the code relavent to the script at hand and get that working before you try adding it to another document which already contains script errors... And do not forget to turn on error reporting...
