I am trying to build a computer, and I need some help. I do have the video card already that I am going to use for a while (as its only 1 year old). Thats what my first question concerns. I have a ATI Radeon 9600 Pro, and I was wondering if it would be compatible and/or advisable to use with a motherboard like this: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-128-254&depa=0

I know nVidia and ATI are rivals or somthing, so thats why i ask. Also, what should I look for in a motherboard? All I know is that I want to use an AMD Athalon processor, but which board is the best concerning these 2 things? Also, please help with selecting a processor from newegg. I will probably have more questions later.

Thanks!

Well that motherboard supports 64-bit AMD processors. So yes, it takes AMD Athlon processors as long as they're socket 939. What to look for in a motherboard. Well, you want to make sure that is has good overclocking features as well as the ability to adjust the voltages and keep consistent voltages so your system is more stable.

Most of the other features are a standard nowadays. If i were you i'd go for the nForce4 boards if you're going for an upgrade. They've just been released.

That motherboard in particular has a dual BIOS feature which can be handy in case you do make a mistake when flashing your BIOS. It can happen. Personally i'm not a fan of gigabyte, i prefer Abit or Asus but that's down to personal preference.
