View Full Version : Is there a workaround for history.go(url) for IE?

history.go(url) works for Netscape 4.x and 6.x but doesn't seem to work for IE5x or 6x. Anyone have any suggestions to do something like this in IE?
Thanks - Cheri

According to this page (http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/author/dhtml/reference/methods/go.asp) that should work. Are you using absolute URLs?

At first, I had the pgm name only add_form.cgi. Then I tried 2) passing the full url w/o the parameters and then I tried 3)passing the full url with all the parameters. All 3 ways didn't work in IE. The 3rd way didn't work for Netscape either.

Oops. When I entered the full URL, I had the wrong file name. It works now but I have to enter the full URL with all the parameters - guess IE looks for an exact match while Netscape can use a substring.
