There's many issues to be resolved but don't navigate through the site just yet. Just look at the front page and give me feedback please :)

I like it :) .
Tasteful blue and yellow colour scheme, semantic code and a damn good header image. Only one thing I don't like. The fuzzy font on the post titles. how about using ALA's Dynamic Text Replacement (http://www.alistapart.com/articles/dynatext/) to whip up images on the fly?
George: The JS smilies and text-editing stuff don't seem to be working?

I've got clear type enabled so with the sub-pixel rendering it all looks smooth to me. The news titles are blurry you say? Hmmm, it'd be pretty simple to do the text replacement with images using PHP methinks.

The colors are pretty good, the layout doesn't hurt at all. I feel sorry for those that my have difficulty seeing though, since your text doesn't seem to re-size in IE.

The text doesn't resize? Explain?

When I hold control and scroll my mouse wheel, the text does not re-size (get bigger and smaller). This is generally due to the fact that you are specifying font size in pixels. You should use percentages instead, at least that is what I have read is best practice. I might add that the pixel limitation only applies to IE I believe.

Your text/background contrast isn't high enough. Your background calls for white text, not black ;)

The text resizes fine for me (FF 1.0).

That's exactly what i was going to do in the first place but never really tested it lol ;) Will try in a mo' to see what it looks like :)

I have no sympathy for people who use IE ;)

Oh, and the header image sort of looks like it doesn't belong... Only because it's the only thing on the page with that shade of blue. Perhaps you could adjust the blue, or make some other element on the page match its current colour?

Good point, i could always make the main body colour the same colour as the lightest blue on the image at the top, i may try that soon :)

I like the header, very nice. Unfortunately the design seems to fall apart a wee bit after that. Colour-wise you need to be picking colours from the header and using them in the rest of the design.
Also, to me, the header seems to suggest a more 'boxy' modular design for the rest of the page, rather than just straght headers and paragraphs.
At the moment, the background, main content and sidebar background colours seem to jarr with the colours in the header, personally I think a lighter, bluey/grey scheme with a white background would look better. I'm thinking along the lines of http://www.andybudd.com/ maybe?

I'm just fixing it up now, not sure on what to do with the background for the content though, making it lighter just doesn't look right. If i do the colours in co-ordinance to the header they're going to be darker yet. I think i need to make the page width smaller as well so it works fine on 800x600 users. Not sure on what else or how to go about doing it. Perhaps swap the column colours for each other?

Looks neat and links are easy to see.
However, file sizes too large for those people who do not have ADSL. The main image is 180K and will take a long time to download for those with ISDN or good old dial-up. I was always taught that ideally a page should be under about 15k in total - not always possible with images.
You could make just the right hand part into a separate image that would be quite a lot smaller and just have background colour to its left. Maybe you could compress the image more?
Athough less important, you could get the same result without the 4 gif images.
As the number of entries increases, to you intend to limit the number of days to each page?

Pagination has been implemented, it's limited to 10 afaik. I will be creating my own CMS for the blog though (eventually)
I could cut it down a lot more yes, i'm going to be making the site smaller overall so it fits on resolutions of 800x600. Not sure about what to do with the body of it though, i think it'll be fine if i add a nice background image.

So I guess you are just making this site for yourself then? Don't want to bother to make it accessible?

lol, damn you! But yeh if anyone can point me in the right direction to fix the alignment problem with the right column (it sticks to the left for some reason?) it'd be much appreciated.
I need to make the page width smaller
Change the background pattern i guess
I'm still not sure what to do on the colour scheme
Anything else?
