rotating a text image

I created an image with text. The text is BETA and I rotated the text to 45 degrees so it sits in an angle. When I rotated it, the sharpness of the image is gone and it looks a bit jagged. How can I avoid this?

Make sure you are anti-aliasing your text. This is called stairstepping -- since photos work off pixels, you're getting the pixel levels for angles (vector lines, for things like illustrator and flash, do not work by pixels, but by lines).
