Hello experts,

I have a MSI G4Ti4400, I purchased about a year ago and it is having problem displaying, the screen keeps turning on and off ever 5 to 6 seconds (a flash on and off, on for few seconds, then off for about 1 second, then over and over). What should I do?

Thank you all,

Mike

If you've already tried another video card and are sure it is the video card causing the problem, then you might want to open the case and ensure the video card fan is spinning if it has one (I think this model does have a fan). Also, you might want to make sure there are no PCI cards real close to the video card so it is getting enough air flow.

Yes, the video card has a fan and it works, I checked everything, it doesn't seen to block by anything, it has enough air flow.

I tried on my friend's computer, it freezes when he tried to load something (such as a game).

The video card crashes differently on different machine. What could cause this kind of problem? any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you,

Mike

Could be a broke video card.

Are you careful when you handle it, for example, only touching the edges of the card. If you touch the chips and stuff the thousands of volts built up in static electricity in your hands can damage the fragile electronics. The transistors in the chips & ram have a thin layer of glassy metal oxides that is only a few molecules thick. You could damage it without feeling a thing.

You sound knowlegable in this area, so my guess is you have handled it correctly and just purchased one that was already broke. Hopefully it is under warranty.

Maybe someone else has some other ideas, for you to try.
