Hi,

I have htaccess working on one folder of my site but I cant seem to protect a different folder.

The folder that I have successfully protected is here:

domain name/zips

the difficult one is here

domain name/cgi-bin/admin

The htacces file reads the same on both folders, because it is looking for the same htpasswd file. should I have made it different in any way and if so, where?

help plz.

your cgi-bin may be in a different place, check your apache config to see if it's a virtual dir or something

Is it not protecting it at all or is it protecting it, but you can't enter a password?

It's not protecting it at all. I have checked the file path and it is that that I have entered to the htaccess file. I'm moving across to a new server so this will no longer be a problem for me as I can set the passwords through a control panel with the new ISP.
