how to make google search only a specific site?

Can google search engine be used to search within a specific website .I saw saw few website that usse google to search their website only.Do they pay for it or is it only a addition of special script on their web pages.
does anyone know how i can put google search engine option on my webpage which will only search my website??

For my own personal use I have the "Google Toolbar". It gives you the option to search the web or the site you're currently on for what you input into a textbox on the toolbar.
