When entering the site how long does it take to find out that we are a design agency?

Fine in FF, IE and Moz. on PC (XP Pro SP2). You can tell it's a design site straight away, although people with smaller screen resoloutions will probably have to scroll before they can see any of the text. Why XHTML Transitional? It wouldn't take much effort to have the Strict DTD. Good code though - clean and semantic. I think you've done well on this site.

Removed some comments, as a second look at the site, as convinced me I was wrong >>>>>puts post-it on monitor: 'Put brain into gear, before opening mouth'

It doesn't instantly hit me as a design agency site -though it does intrigue me enough so I carry on reading till I find it is one. No probs to report in any of the browsers I have access to.

Visually: nice - just needs some focus; copy-wise.

shweet..i like the design..

side note your Contact Us page has 3 errors
on the Validator (http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A//www.arkwork.co.uk/contactus.htm) well done the sideways logo isn't really readable all the way up to Advice and Solutions...and the image is a little messy - the edges between each color are a little rough...but the fon is cool..especially the work part. I'd suggest using a different list type for the Home and Contact Us (the lil man just isn't doing much for me). I mean its fine for the text stuff but im not wild about it for the main links.just my thoughts...other than that I can find nothing wrong with it. Looks great! Good luck!

Nice! :D For me it's quite clear that this website is for a design agency due to the sketchy banner (which is very good looking). I'm not that convinced with the logo however; the font used in "ARK WORK" doesn't "work" for me. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like capitalized script letters in a word/sentence. Also, again my opinion, I'd recommend you to skip the asterisks' in the logo and replace them with something *more* professional (perhaps just wider spaces?).

All in all this is a fine website both in code and design! Keep up the good work and good luck!

very nice work, i dont usually see well designed websites on this forum, from the few review posts i read, but this one is great

im viewing it on firefox 1.0 (not the preview) and its fine, i knew you were a design agency before the whole page loaded because of 3 things:

1) page title
2) introductory paragraph
3) i read it in your post
