Hi masters,

There are so many programming languages in the world. So...ah... does a programmer hava to know or skill at much or all or these programmiing languages.
If he is at home in only one language, will it be enough for him?
I'm really a computer novice and I don't know programming but starts to be interested in it.
Thanks for your reading and advice.

Iota

Depends on what you wanna do. If you wanna become an IT-professional that is specialised in a few tasks, or if you're gone have a broader area of expertise.

One language can go a long way. If you for instance only wanna do webprogramming, then being an expert in PHP can be sufficient.

If you are interested in gaming, learn C++ and then expand on that with DirectX.

Just giving you ideas!

Odona you are way off-topic. I realize the author of the thread doesn't seem to mind, but I do. Not only that, it's important to stay on topic so that when people have the same question as iota, they can read this thread to find an answer. Odona, I advise you to start a new thread in the Html/CSS forum. I'll be deleting the off-topic posts in this one.
