At work here... we had a system crash with the server, the RAID died very honorably:) We wanted to use the Data backup tapes to recover the information. However, the new linux install doesn't seem to want to read the tapes. I'm wondering, what's the best way to read backup tapes for this system -- can I just plug the unit into a PC and read it? The data backup drive is an HP SureStar DLT 80 -- there's got to be an easy way to get this stuff of, isn't there?

I'm starting to think that's the only solution now -- the original server was running fedora 2, and even though we've reinstalled everything, nothing seems to be playing nice. Thanks for the input:)

Sorry, but i just couldn't resist contributing to this thread. Bradyj asking for help? :D Now that's something. Well like Craig said, using a computer with an eariler version of Linux is about the best solution. Cheers and please ask for help again.
