View Full Version : Controlling browsers

How can I email a webpage to a bunch of users so that when they open the page it automatically opens without title bars, scrollbars etc. and is of a specific size?

I've found the code below but it opens the window in a new window (from http://www.htmlgoodies.com/beyond/openwin.html). I'd like it to open within itself so to speak. That is, when they open the page it is automatically configured.

Thanks in advance.

function openindex()
OpenWindow=window.open("", "newwin", "height=250, width=250,toolbar=no,scrollbars="+scroll+",menubar=no");

OpenWindow.document.write("<TITLE>Title Goes Here</TITLE>")
OpenWindow.document.write("<BODY BGCOLOR=blue>")
OpenWindow.document.write("This text will appear in the window!")

<body onLoad="openindex()" >

You can't...

Besides your use of an onload event will be caught and suppressed by a substantial majority of users popup blockers... Not withstanding, in this day and age, only an idiot would allow html in emails....

What this is.... is a prime example of an excercise in futility...

quite true, tho not necessarily an issue if you use Thunderbird (http://www.mozilla.org/thunderbird) as your client :D
