Network Services by MS-DOS

Is it possible to turn on services from other computer's on the network by Ms-DOs command prompt?

For example:

> net start messenger
this will turn my computer on
what about other computer on the network if I know the computer hostname?

You can so long as you have the proper rights/authentication. Although you may need to script some of your higher functions.
