View Full Version : testing window if I didn't call it

I'm not sure if this is possible, but after opening a window on page1.html, I'm trying to see if it is still open from page2.html.

While I remain on page1.html it is easy to see if the window is still open with:
if (typeof(ChildWin) == "undefined" || ChildWin== null || ChildWin.closed) {
ChildWin= open(URL, WinName, WinAttrs);

It seems, however, that I cannot access the child window from page2.html because you have one window object per page so the ChildWindow object, which is a reference to the window object, does not exist on the second page.

I guess what I'm looking for is some sort of higher level object which exists on different pages. Any ideas? Thanks.
