This board eats backslashes

I just found out that the PHP syntax highlighting vB Code does not ensure that backslashes are treated like they were entered in the form. They simply get stripped from the code.

That's quite a nuisance if you want to enter regular expressions. Anyway, they do appear if you enter the each backslash twice, like "escaping" the backslashes.

Just thought I'd mention it in case someone else is wondering what's happening. Perhaps a hint in the vB code help page would be good.
If you think that my message should be better redirected to vbBulletin itself, please tell me so.

Hi:
There are a few other characters VB seems to eat as well. I'm looking forward to VB3 to help address these issues. Oh yes, and the new karma system as well :)

this is because they use stripslashes(); after they run it through the "colorizing" part to remove the ones they added...
