simple write form data to SQL and run script question

howdy, newbie basic question

I have a form that runs formmail to send the submitted variable to me as email, that's fine

I now want to change it so that it writes the variables to a MySQL database and then runs the frommail script, or vice versa

I can do either, not quite sure how to do both on the same html page

Just need a pointer on the simplest way to tackle this
