Sounds cool, I haven't downloaded it yet...

Wondered if anyone had any thoughts about it.

Sounds like a hoax. Too little information given for a system that is supposedly freely available today.

The middle link you posted! Scan the messages posted there and you'll see it's a hoax. Some other dead giveaways, the website in your first link says the article was posted today yet looking at the article itself, it's comparing the "new" OS to Windows 95, OS/2 and Windows NT, references the Windows HCL (something no longer maintained) and other things that should make it plain that it's a very old article and today's hoaxer hasn't even bothered to refresh the text a bit.

Yeah I figured it was a bit odd.. I actually just received an email from my Mom regarding this! (We're an Indian family...)

I'd never heard about this in the past, and was only slightly convinced by the messages found in those links.. In my mind I had sort of justified comparing it to Windows 95 as he is only in grade 12 after all... lol

I've never heard about the HCL either, gonna research that just now..

Oh well, another day, another lie..

Ah, ok now I see what the HCL (Hardware Compatibility List) is:

I also came across this coollink on the Microsoft's Hardware site (keyboard with fingerprint detection!!):

When's the retinal scanner coming as part of the webcam on the monitor? lol

Well it sounded familiar, I vaguely remember something like that back when the "big contest" (read that as partisan hype) was between MS's Windows 95 and IBM's OS/2 Warp.
