View Full Version : HTML different between two XP computers

Help! I am wondering if anyone can shed some light on this.

I have built a simple HTML page.

I am using basic HTML, by that I mean, <font size="1'>Text</font>.

The problem is that I am using breaks to stop widows and to stop the Clients nameform breaking in half ie.

Everything looks good on my Xp machine and my pals 2000 machine, and my home 2000 machine, but the clients XP machine is breaking differently. They have told be that they are viewing the text in 'medium' size.

Problem is, I cannot tell them why this is happening, how to fix it. This was never a problem with them b4. They just updated to XP from 98.

This is killing me.

Anyideas as to why it would be breaking badly.

I am hoping that someone could tell me to click a link and everything would be fine.

Could you at least show us the code? Or perhaps the ideal settings for the page?

BTW, it could be that the client is at a different resolution.

I can allways delete the link i guess. Do you think that having a differrent resolution will affect font size in explorer?

Yes. My text size is set to "medium" and when I change resolutions, it makes the font size change.

Strange... I don't think that font size is the problem here because it looks the same at any of my resolutions... (from 640x480 up to 1280x1024)

I have adjusted my DPI setting to 120 DPI and I am getting the same line breaks as my client.

This just might be it.

It was the DPI setting, I asked my cleint to put it back to 90dpi and BAM! everything is fine.
