Is there a way when creating a form to have something different in the subject line, for each submission?

Maybe a field that when filled in will replace the subject?

Thanks in advance!!!! :D

It depends how you will be handling the form action, for instance using mailto: or some server-side script.

Can you be more specific about what you're doing now and what you'd like to do?

creating a form so that people can submit IT requests, my boss asked if there was a way to have something different in each submissions subject line. More than likely is will be submitted using sendmail from a cgi directory.

Thanks for any assistance!!

In that case this thread is probably better suited for the Perl/CGI area.

I can't offer advice on the CGI mechanics, but it should be as simple as defining the subject field in your form and then retrieving the entered value which is finally output to the email you receive in your inbox. Something along those general lines...

So the simple answer is yes, the person submitting the form can enter any subject they wish.
