Logo / Banner Request.

Hey.

After reading a post where someone requested a logo I saw how kind and helpful some of u graphic guys really are :)

I have a site, its a free site - doesn't earn very much cash so im a bit stuck for awarding money for this work. However the site does pretty well for traffic, and if someone makes me a banner that I use I can offer you a link or 88 X 31 button or if you have suggestions, fire?

As for the banner logo...

if you go to http://www.tab-archive.com and select any of the 4 links, guitar, bass, drums or lyrics and take a look inside. That main header will appear on each page - It really needs to be the same for all 4 types of entrance apart from it should include which you have selected.. for example.. currently if you click guitar.. you see

Those current logo's i really don't like, I have no flare for design at all. So you can be as close or as far from those as you wish as long as they fit with the current colour scheme of the site..

Anyone got a few minutes to open their heart and graphic apps for me ? :D

OK, first off I' a total newb here but I couldn't find a place to say hello and introduce myself, so here I am....\me waves hello! :D

Here's my attempt with each layer used as a frame on an animated banner just for display purposes. If you are interested in using it I can send you the psd so you can play with the layers. No need for any money if you do want it, it's not exactly pro! lol :p

I have been into graphics design for nearly three years now, specilizing in logos, and banners. I spent about 3 days finding some inspiration for this one, and i think you'll agree that its perfect for your site!!!

I've whipped up a little something for you -- the attached image is a screenshot of what it would look like in your site and this zip file (http://stuff.mindlesslemming.com/tab-header.zip) contains the photoshop file and also the tiny gif which is to be repeated horizontally behind the logo graphic.
If you want to use this you will need to change this line of code:

There's no problem with copyright infringment as the photo I used is one I took of my Strat :D (I play in two bands + used to teach)
The two fonts I used are Trebuchet MS, which comes packaged with windows; and Trajan Pro, which comes packaged with photoshop. If you want to use this but don't have photoshop/trajan pro font, let me know and I'll do up the other ones for you too.

I don't want any money in return for the work -- but if you would start going through your code and adding doctypes, quoting attributes and moving more presentational attributes to CSS that would be thanks enough :thumbsup:
...and if you don't want to use it at all; that's all good too -- just let me know either way so I can pull the zip file off the server.

Actually your work is quite clearly the joke, when you have trained as a proffessional graphics designer for three years then maybe you will be of the same class as me but untill then you can only dream.
Just to prove I am definately better than you I have come up with yet another brilliant design, to show my versatilltiy, and also to ruin your career as a graphics designer. I have no need to be offended by your pathetic jokes when i am going places in life and you're not!!! Look and weep......everybody else enjoy, and imagine that one day with years of practice you may also be able to be as good and creative as i am. Keep trying though :thumbsup:

You can't possibly be serious. But you have definitely taken it a bit too far. Fun is fun, but you can't just sign up and do this sort of thing. We run a serious forum here, for serious discussion. Perhaps if you engage in some you would get some laughs out of something like this but for now I think you really just get pitty.. My advice is that you give up before you're banned for being a nuisance.

i dont think you should try to restrict me showing off my clear gift for this skill, i personally think that you are just jealous because you obviously are not in the same league as me when it comes to designing.

on a SERIOUS note, i would like to point out the use of the "spray" tool in my designs, i really do feel it has a dramatically positive effect upon the overall appearance of the banner.

sirpannels, why ever do you not want my design, i have recently created another, if you wish to re-consider. I will sell it even cheaper....say $20....each.

I now have a new and yet again improved banner, I must give you my honest opinion but all or your ideas really do suck, you seriously should re-consider your career paths now before it is too late. 0-Jay this is a post from you offering people free designs so you can build your portfollio.. im gonna say this thread would have just killed any chance of any takers on that one.. which is a shame seing as you had a paid offer there.
