I am searching the web over for the approximate current price for a Liebert UPStation S3. I can't seem to find it, so I decided to ask all you web gurus...

How much is this thing worth?

Edit: In 1999: "Pricing starts at $16,200"

If it's batteries haven't been replaced since 1999 then it's worth is ~ 0.

I dont know if they have been replaced or not, but I do know that up until about a year ago (the last time it was used) it had gone through all scheduled quarterly maintenace sessions and passed (as I have those reports)...

Idle sitting shouldnt wear the batteries down at all...so that makes it more than 0 i hope.

A UPS system's batteries will need to be replaced every few years regardless of how many times the UPS was needed. It's good to know they've been maintained regularly since that can mean the batteries were replaced (check the reports). If you've got the manuals see what they can tell you about how long the batteries will last too. Last of course is the reason why the UPS has come available in the first place, sometimes it may be cheaper to replace the whole UPS than just it's batteries.

OTOH, an expensive UPS like that was probably designed to handle a lot more equipment than your average home PC so even in it's sunset years it may be more than capable.

The UPStation was used for a series of servers that a national packet company used. When they company moved out, they upgraded all their equipment and left some in the suite. Now we must liquidate the server cabinets and UPStation. I am going to check the station myself in a few to see condition/battery condition/etc. Any ideas of a price for the thing yet guys?

Also, I have attached a pic of the UPS and a link to a pic of the cases. Let me know if you guys are interested in the cases and I will see what I can do for you before they hit ebay...
