Javascript vs Browser problem

Hi

I have tried to visit certain websites and have had a message that JavaScript is disabled in my browser.

I don't know what has happened but does anyone know how to enable it again please?

I'm using Windows XP Home with I.E. 6 Browser.

Goto Tools->Internet Options... thanks to the restrictions work place on these PC's, I can't fnid the exact tab for you... but it is in there.

Look for a tab that displays aload of check boxs... there should be an option for scripting languages where you can enable things like VBscript and JavaScript.

I have found the tab for the option with all the check boxes (the Advanced tab) but there is no mention of Javascript or VBscript.

Javascript in Internet Explorer(MSIE):

* Tools
* Internet Options
* Security [tab]
* Custom Level
* Scroll through untill you find Scripting then Active Scripting. It's near the end of the list.
* Click the Enable radio button
* Click ok
* Click Yes
* Click ok
* Restart your brower

Thanks squirellplaying but I am completely confused.

I have checked through your list and according to to the checkbox Active scripting is enabled.

I have some software (notably PHP MyAdmin) this runs through the browser and this is telling me that Javascript is disabled in the browser. If wish to delete a file from MySQL it should have a pop-up with the title Javascript Application. This box does not appear anymore.

Also I have been visiting a website which cannot be displayed correctly again the website is thinking that Javascript is disabled. A friend of mine can display the website correctly. He downloaded and sent me a page to see if I can display it. When I tried it just gave me a blank page with the title about blank. When I stripped all of the Javascript out of the code in Dreamweaver it displayed fine.
When I visit the website (which I have registered) and try to access any other page it just takes me back to the login page.

Have you any other thoughts on what is causing this and how the problem can be solved?
