View Full Version : Apache Explorer Script

This is my first day here. I use this site for a while.
I've downloaded a lot of applets and scripts.
I need a Java Script/Applet that gets a file list from an Apache Server
and shows it in own design, like a Java Explorer, for a web page. But to have own Style for icons, labels and background.
Thank you very much ( in advance )

You need to use a server side code to do it, JavaScript can not do it.

You need to use a server side code to do it

but a Java applet might be able to. Java has network abilities, so it's possible it could communicate with the server to retrieve file information.

if you try the Java forum you might get a response. better still google on "java server file access" or something similar. :D

it should be noted Java is a high-level programming language with a steep learning curve, and creating a mini-FTP thin client is not to be sniffed at for a Java newbie let alone a JS one.

it is possible you could buy one that would do everything you need. have you considered that?

If you're running Apache, you might want to ask about this in the PHP forum. It's a lot simpler than Java and I'm pretty sure that you'll get an answer you can use there.
