Where are those cookies?

Did you ever notice after you cleared cookies from your browser, and returned to a site, that the information was still there?
Are they stored in more than one place, or something?

Have you looked in C:\Windows\Cookies ?

Have you looked in the Temporary Internet Files as well as the cookies location?

Yeah, I've deleted cookies manually from the cache, in the past, and there's nothing in the cookies directory, except for Index.dat (maybe that's it?)... but this happens in different browsers too; I wonder if a site can somehow identify my computer; Is there such a thing as a server-cookie?
