phpmyadmin problem

Hello,

right i have my own server (apache2triad) , and I have phpmyadmin, i recently signed up to link my IP up to a site called www.no-ip.com. And on my server there is an option to change the domain so i changed it to mhaworth.zapto.org. However my ip changes everytime i log on as i do not have a fixed ip address so i have to log on to the site every time i log on to the internet to change it! However when i try to use phpmyadmin it says page cannot be found after i create a new database. Now i have tried to change my domain back to localhost but it wont let me cos it just doesnt change... Now I have realised this could be one of two problems, it is looking for php on a server that does not exist, as it is linking to the no-ip address. Or I could have a problem with my php! please help! :rolleyes:

if the mysql-server is running on your own server (i suppose that is the case, right) then you shouldn't be using phpmyadmin. personally i find it ugly, inefficient, slow and chaotic, but that's not even the main reason. You should not go over the webserver to connect to the mysql-server. that is just a waste of resources). You should just use a db-frontend that connects directly to the mysql server. Like MySQL Front or any other one that you fency. MySQL Front isn't free anymore but there are plenty of free ones around.
