What is PHP? I dloaded PHP-BB and well i opened the installation directions and it looked another language to me. (no pun intended) Is there any online tutorials (that are good, detailed for beginners) Or books, dloads..something???

I'd recommend downloading Phpdev, it has some code examples that let you get the jist.

It's a server side language which basically means the server processes it and spits out html, this can be composed of results from a database such as MySQL, images using the GD or pages created around a template as many people here use. It's a programming language rather than a markup language like html.
