Hey everyone! I have been around some places, and I have snipped some codes from around here and there. I would like to know what people think of my website.

Ratings, Suggestions, Comments, and Reviews appreciated :p

Off the top of my head...

It's a bit messed up in Firefox. Your top banner is covering the border of the table below it, but not the text. So ya, that looks odd. By the looks of it, that graphic should be in the top black area alone.

I haven't checked out the HTML, but it looks like you need to set the colspan to 2 in that main table there.

If you are going to have the navigation flush right of the window, you should probably extend that table as well. There's all sorts of space just sitting in the right side of my screen there with nothing happening.

Speaking of things happening, I don't know where other people stand on this but I think it's a safe bet that you should avoid 3 things when designing a web page.

1) midi sound bits playing in the background
2) under construction gifs
3) blinking/spinning/scrolling text and/or graphics (the first graphic in yours is busted too, btw)

If you follow those 3 rules, you're on the right track.

Congrats on what you've done so far and keep working at it.

Looking at your code, it's obvious you haven't got a clue what you're doing. How about putting in a little effort? Reading up on what the tags mean? Learning from some good examples of code?

You can download firefox (free) and see for yourself.
http://www.mozilla.org/

You can find the errors on your pages by plugging your URL into the window at:
http://www.htmlhelp.org/tools/validator/
(check the "show input box")

The Geocities URL generates many many errors (including two body tags) - so many that the maximum number is reached before all can be noted.

It is only by chance that your page is showing the way you expect it to show on your browser. Remember that codings are only suggestions for formatting to the various browsers. If you use standardized coding, you have a better chance of having the pages look roughly the same in all browsers.

The following Browser Compatibility Tutorial may help:

The Web Standards Project FAQ page might also offer some help:

How about being helpful? everyone was new at one point, thats no reason to belittle them.

Also, how do you know it wasn't done using WYSIWYG editors, many of us came through then before being able to hand type code, I'm one of them, you should see how badly the last site I made with a WYSIWYG editor validated (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fgwsearch.freewebpage.org%2F).
