Hi,

I'm using the latest version of the fValidate library - 5.01b

I have this error that won't go away and I have broken down my Form to a very basic example. IE 5 on MAC still generates this "validator 'blank' was not found" error - see image here (http://www.portalparts.com/temp/fvalidate.tiff)

I have the example form posted here (http://www.portalparts.com/temp/formtest.php) for you to test.

I was not able to see anything on this site or on www.peterbailey.net that could explain this or that mentioned MAC IE 5 should not work.

I'm hoping it's something silly on my part.

Anyone using fValidate with MAC's ??

It's a great library, I know there are many users and Peter actively posts here. I have no issues in being patient. I sent Peter a contribution yesterday with a email follow-up. I know I need to give everyone time to review and comment and a couple days is not long.

I am just trying to meet a customer deadline and if I fValidate does not work on the MAC, then they want me to use something else.

So my first question was is it not supported and if it is - why is the basic example I posted generate errors on the MAC IE5 browser.

Thanks.

Hey Blaine

I'm sorry fValidate isn't working for you on Mac IE

The exact reason for this I'm not sure, but I can for sure give you a general reason.

Not only do I not own a Macintosh, but IE 5.1/5.2 Mac is a dead browser. It's very difficult to justify shuffling any of my precious fValidate development time (which is VERY thin these days) to a browser that is

1) no longer made
2) no longer supported/maintained
3) represents maybe .01% of the browsing populace

I've looked at the code in question and don't have any suppositions as to the case of the problem at this moment.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your reply and I also don't own a MAC but had two buddies (both designers) testing. As it turns out .. one of those buddies is the client ;)

Were you able to view the source for the example above and see anything that I've done incorrectly. My actual form is much more complicated but was getting the same error even with this basic form.
