I have a toshiba cable modem that i just hooked up to a cable/dsl router that allows me to splite the cable to two pc's.Now i have a printer with a parallel port and a scanner with a usb port.I would like to hook them up to the router as well. Do i need two adapters that will take the parallel port and another that will support the usb and than have them connect to the router? What our my options?

Can't do that. You can't just buy an adapter. You can buy printers that are designed to connect directly to the network, but not scanners. Your best option would be to connect them to one computer and share the printer accross the network. As for the scanner, without third party software it cannot be shared (that is if there actually exists 3rd party software to share scanners). Other than that you could always set up a remote administration connection between you and the computer with the scanner and then scan that way.

What OS are you running?

There is a adaptor for printers. Or called print server.

Your right about the scanner. As we speak i can not find anything that will connect it to my router.
Thanks
