detecting flash plugin

I used to have a section of asp code that could detect if a user had a particular version of a flash plugin and redirect them accordingly? Anybody have any ideas how to do this.

I would think that it would be much easier to detect the user's capabilities with javascript... and it would save you a step since any client-side settings would then have to be sent to the server. This should be in the javascript forum; not the ASP forum.
