In your opinion, what is more annoying.

1. Pop-ups (only one for evertime you visit the main, maybe every page (i haven't built that far on this host))

2. Banners at the tops of pages?

I can deal with banners, but pop ups are very annoying. (But I get block either in Mozilla :p).

Just for fun, the first XLink popup ad for the next generation of XML-friendly popups :D:

<advertisement xlink:type="simple" xlink:href="http://www.google.com" xlink:show="new" xlink:actuate="onLoad" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"/>

Could probably use some RDF metadata to describe the advertisement as well. :D

Oh, and BTW, since Mozilla supports simple XLink, you'll find that will popup a window to google. The next generation of ads, now! :)

Banners are fine as long as they're not too big and are tastefully designed. I particularly like some of the Flash ones, the vector graphics are sweet on the eyeballs.

Ones I hate are the flashing ones and those with text all around.

Popups are the worst, I hate them and they're poinless as I've closed them before they've loaded anyway.

Okay thanks...

My netfirms account has the VERY VERY VERY annoying one with the white bg and a red bg flasing really really fast. It drives me off of my own page. I just opened up an account at musicdot.com (it redirects you to where you need to go), love it, no banners, but it gives you 3 options:

Standard banner console (can't run the board i want with banners)

Popup Console (suitable for frames pages)

Email popup console - "Banner Free"

What is the difference between teh 2 pop ups??

Thanks

Maybe you should find another host ... You can get ad-free webpages for as little as $25 a year these days
