I see you didn't post a joboffer + don't supply more precise details about the offered hostingpackage.

As a reference, this is what i currently use for development and testing: http://www.ithium.net/
$10 a year for all the features you need, fast server and only had one period of downtime in the 2 years i use it.

What do you got to offer that is better?

If you wan't some script that is written from scratch and that should become your sole property, then i'd charge you $300/day. So 30 years of hosting a day sounds reasonable to you? (i probably woun't live that long).

don't know the space yet but I'm was just thinking 5 gigs space and 50 gigs bandwith...don't know it all depends on what it is you want on your site, media alot of download, small amount of downloads. No download...etc.

In order for it to be free you would have to give it away without anything in return. Correct me if i'm wrong but you stated you wanted someone to do some programming for you in exchange for hosting.

I think the point that people are trying to make is that writing the software that you describe is something that would take quite some time and much effort even for an experienced programmer. Decent paid hosting can cost as little as $10/month or even less. That's not very much compensation for someone to do the work. A young beginner might like the idea but a beginner is likely not going to produce the quality of software it seems you want. You did mention you were looking for a good programmer.
