Hmmmm... when designs dont seem to "click" for me I go back to the pen and paper technique, try making the general structure of things look good on paper before trying to nail it on screen.

I also find the background very bright, consider toning it down a little or something... if you are going to keep the blue links consider changing it for a slightly less clashy blue, because it's kinda clashing with the green at the moment.

That said, it's a good starting place. Good luck.

While I'm not wild about the green, it isn't too horrible. I echo what redhead said and suggest that you change the link colours. The red hover colour is especially jarring against the green.

You might also play with the placement of the 'applications' image. Centered where it is now, I find my eye having to jump all over. Place the image in such a way that it will lead the eyes to the links and sign up areas.

I've changed some things (not changed the background yet, got to dig up the Photoshop file to change the background of the logo), what do you think now?

I am not sure if those two greens match. I would also right align the "Email:" and "Name:". Not sure if it helps but when I get stuck on colors I usually go to http://www.webwhirlers.com/colors/wizard.asp, http://color.twysted.net/, or http://www.colorschemer.com/online.html , ect.

I should've bookmarked the second link there, thanks for finding it again for me, now, the FTP server is playing up so I'll have to upload via cPanel :(

The link hover colour is almost impossible to see against the green. And the link colour itself could be a shade darker.

That's strange that the #96ff96 is not matching. I just took a look at your png and it seems like that is the colour that is in the bottom area. On Firefox, the green colours are not matching between the page background and the bottom of the .png. Maybe when you open up the photoshop file, you might think of changing to one of the 216 "safe" colours (http://llizard.crosswinds.net/cwc/colour2.htm)

Try moving the image down a bit on the page. For such a big button, it seems that the margin between the top of the page and the top of the image. (Try imagining how you would put such an image into a frame to put on the wall)

You might also try lining up

As things are now, one doesn't quite know where to look on the page after seeing the applications image because the lines all start in different places on the page.

I wonder if of echoing the turquoise of your icon for your page colours might be a good idea (or echoing the greens on the page for your icon)
