Screen Resolution

Does screen resolution have to do more with hardware or what u actually set it to....

im working on a site...(Like you guys havent heard me say this a million times today) and i am using 800 X600 Screen Resolution and i made my site fit this resolution....

Now if i Change the Screen Resolution to 1024 X 768 The Site Looks Small... Is this because my monitor isnt meant to handle 1024 X 768 or because i am doing something wrong in my designing....

Like i said i normaly run 800 X 600 and that looks about right to me.....

No, when you set your resolution higher, things are going to look smaller. See here for some scrn shot examples: http://www-pplant.ucdavis.edu/htm/screens/screens.htm

ok...So how do i overcome this problem....

Im using Graphics om my site so i cant use percentages on them because if i do they will look distorted?

ok... people set thier screens high or low because they want to see sites big or small, so make you site work at 800*600 and also mae sure it looks fine @ 1024*768, dont try to make it "look" the same size in both... just.... dont. :)
