OK, i have a problem with people steeling images from my site and i found a code to disable the right click:

<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
function disable()
{
if (event.button == 2)
{
alert("AH, AH, AH... No Saving or Stealing!!!!")
}
}

</script>
</head>
<body onmousedown="disable()">
</body>
</html>

but they still got the images!! so i found out some people are dragging the images down to the little box on the tool bar and just the image shows up in the browser! i also saw on a another site the the disabled the "drag the image down to the little box on the tool bar and just the image shows up in the browser" (i don't know what it's {:S!!) so how do it do that code??? dose anyone know what I'm talking about?? sorry I'm bad at this kind of stuff!! :o !!
and the images also show up in Temporary Internet Files!! is there a way i can stop that??

If you don't want to share it - don't upload it :)

Dude, this is going nowhere :(
Like cg9com said, don't upload it if you're worried.

Things you can't stop:
-- Tempory Internet Files (Cache)
-- View Source, copy file location, paste URL in browser location bar.
-- PRINT SCREEN key!
-- User run javascripts that display every image on a page in succession.

NOTHING can be done about any of the above. Take off the alfoil hat and stop worrying about the aliens. It's a very wide web :D

The best you can do is copyright your images in this situation - but as long as it's shown on your website you really can't stop a user from grabbing it.

yeah but someone posted that:

"This little snippet used as a Bookmarklet or pasted into the address bar,
which displays every image on its own little page."

"javascript:Ai7Mg6P='';for (i7M1bQz=0;i7M1bQz<document.images.length;i7M1bQz++){Ai7Mg6P+='<img src='+document.images[i7M1bQz].src+'><br>'};if(Ai7Mg6P!=''){document.write('<center>'+Ai7Mg6P+'</center>');void(document.close())}else{alert('No images!')}"

i need this code in html!! i've tried posting it in a html editor and it's just text!! :( :confused:

and like i said before i saw a site where a girl disabled the "pasted into the address bar, which displays every image on its own little page" on her .GIFs!! and i can't see the code because she disabled right click!! and i can't ask her because we're competitors!! :rolleyes:

PLEASE help with this!! i'm losing my mind over this!!! :eek:

If you want to see how someone else did something, select "View Source" from the "View" menu while on their site.

If you need that js bookmarklet as a function, post a thread in the JS forum asking for someone to convert it for you.
Willy Duit wrote the thing, so I'm sure he could make it into a function in about 5 seconds.

Can we have a link to your competitor's site? Tell us what she has that you can't get, and we'll show you multiple ways off getting it.
Hopefully then you'll realise that everything is open on the web.

and like i said before i saw a site where a girl disabled the "pasted into the address bar, which displays every image on its own little page" on her .GIFs!!

I find that impossibly hard to believe, please provide link.
:thumbsup:

We're not here to judge, we're here to help :)

You mean this?

Edited: Removed Images

Right click is only disabled in Internet Exploder.
Drag the image into your address bar and it shows the location of the file on your hard drive.
Problem solved? :confused:

Think it's just a problem IE has with images that haven't been uploaded via ftp, I had it happen like that on one of my sites. Can drag it in other browsers though

You could always put a little logo in the corner of your pics or something. There really is no way to secure your images since they are automatically placed in a temp folder when viewed on a webpage. Are they linking to your images and eating your bandwidth? I think there are ways to prevent that, but I'm not entirely sure.

Put your website address on the images as a 'watermark'. If they sell them they'd have your website address on, unless they spend some time editing the images to get the url off.

I see an interesting ref url to my board and...

Hi Walter, I don't compete with anyone, if you think you are in competiton with me fine but thats just you, I don't need to "compete" with anyone. This is fun for me to do and I just do it because i like to and yes I have become friends with people at MGA. You can ask me for any info, and no I never take anything from you- I don't have to. I never have. :) The opposite is usually true as you are proving here saying you want to take my pictures and not ask me because of some imaginary competition.

Can I please request you guys remove the links of mine you posted above? I like diaryland a lot and they don't need to have the bandwidth taken plus these are links to my pages and if you want to visit them thats great but I really don't want them just posted like this. Again Walter no one is in competition with you- if thinking that makes it fun for you then go ahead but don't post stuff implying I am taking stuff from you. :rolleyes: You asked me recently if I liked you- LOL you don't have to be so sneaky- Anytime you asked I helped you, so why this?

Thanks in advance for removing my links. I know the posters were just helping someone. :)
