I guess it depends on how it's encrypted. Take a look at http://www.searchenginewatch.com
I'd say it will effect your ranking, as the bots may not be able to read your source and make sense of it. Plus there's no point in encrpting your source, it's easily decrypted.

I would say it has no effect because it displays correctly anyway. I like to goof around with encryption myself...especially hiding the 'key' within 2 or 3 hundred includes...heh heh.
Better ask here (http://searchengineforums.com/bin/Ultimate.cgi) to be certain.
I'd say of course. The source is just a garble of random ASCII characters. The search engine does know well enough to take precisely two seconds to decrypt your source, like anyone who wants it can.
Source code encryption is useless.

Of course the search engine would have to read javascript (or whatever) which some do now...heh heh.

Zoobie, don't want to wobble off topic here, but just a little fyi - the line you quoted is from the popular "All your base are belong to us!", derived from poorly translated text from a Japanese video game (I believe). Run a Google search on All your base are belong to us and you'll see what I mean (just in case you really didn't know where that came from) ;) .
Zoobie, one last off topic post :D, I say that because I have moderator privileges in every forum, as does boxer_1. :)
