Do you mean somthing like this:

<html>
<head>

<script>

function Type() {

document.all.span1.innerHTML= form1.date.value ;
}
</script>

</head>
<body>
<br>
<form id="form1">
<b>Html:
<Textarea id="date" onkeyup="Type();"></textarea>
</FORM>
<br><BR>

<span id="span1" style="background:#BBB;width:400px;height:400px;"></span>

</body>
</html>

But if you want the data to be persistent the next time the user visits the page, you have to store the data to a database. And you need a server-side language to do that.
