scripts in moveable type

Hello and please have mercy on me. I am as newbie as they come and I am diligently and frustratingly trying to learn CSS :( as opposed to straight (old style HTML). I am currently working in a program called Moveable Type and I am trying to get the following script in my right hand side bar

There are a few places where I can put it:
Atom Template
Main Index Template
Rss Style Sheet
Side bar 1Tempalte
Side bar 2 template

I want the "image"/link to appear in sidebar 2 so I am assuming that because it is content and not style that I would put it in the sidebar 2 template but...alas....this does not work.

Any suggestions would be helpful and appreicated.

It's almost impossible to discern your problem without some more information. Can we get a website or the all of the code from the page where the problem exists?
