Sorry for the offtopicness of this, but I just thought it worth to be mentioned.

What are you prepared to give for an iPod? (http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1467&item=4170233903&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW)

This is one of the craziest things that I have seen in a long time. I didn't know what to expect when I read the title of this thread. Well, I guess I found out. I'll have to say that I would do quite a bit for an ipod, but I'm sure that I wouldn't trade my soul for one. Why doesn't that guy just make someone a website and buy one the old fashioned way? This looks like another plot of some lazy hooligan with too much free time.

My friend tried to sell his soul on there a long time ago -- he offered to throw in his dog's soul as well. It didn't work.

I'm betting that at least one of those votes is a bid by the auctioneer under a different ebay account. How else would it be up to 50 bucks? :p

It made me smile (--> that worth about 50 bucks, i'd say).

I suspect ebay has a special team that's creating or promoting such strange items (for instance by bidding on them). After all, it's great promotion and it hardly costs anything.
It creates a kind of "it's easy to make money on ebay, so lets sell some items there" and "man, you can realy by just about everything there" ambiance. Exactly what they try to get across.

Hmm. Maybe i'll offer this fraudulent strategy for sale at ebay (or better still, i'll be getting it pattented).
