I can't really offer any money for this, because well I'm 16 with no job and no way to send it to you. But if someone would be kind enough to help me, that would be cool.
I need a script that on start up would log into my router, go to the set up page, clear the current password, enter the password back in, and save it.
This should really be in Computers/PC section or the Programming section.
That's a weird thing to do.. What exactly are you trying to achieve by doing that? Anyway, before we can help, we need to know what kind of a router it is.. Maybe the problem you are trying to solve can be solved in a much simpler way?

I have a linksys wireless B router 2.4 GHz.
The problem I am having is that it drops my connection. Today I called verizon (my ISP), which also trouble shoots for the router. They said that slight power surges(even with a surge protecter) causes the router to reset it self, and to fix it I log into the router, and reset the password. So resetting the password everytime a computer started should prevent this problem from happening as often. It would be better if the script could run when it can't detect the internet, but I'm not sure if that is possible.

That doesn't sound right, it sounds like they were just trying to get rid of you and not solve your problem. You shouldn't have to do that, you simply have a bad router on your hands.

Oh yeah. :) I just don't get a good chance to express it here on CF, but I do on other forums I visit.

Thier warrent is bs too. It's thier replace it for a year but you have to pay for shipping and handling which comes to about $10. Anyway his solution worked so.
Ya. I have the same problem with my linksys wireless router. Like it will drop a connection. Im with Cinci Bell btw. What i found to work is just to open all of the ports, but this opens you to s as well. If you want to do this, like i do it all the time for downloads, so it wont drop, type in your IP in the browser. This will bring a admin login. Username is admin, password is admin. Go to the advanced tab, on the top right, then go to the forwarding tab. Type in 0 for the first port, and then in think it is 65465 or somthing in the second box. So 0 to 65465. Then enable both check boxes, and type in your ip for the ip. It should be in the 134.156.1.100 form. Two pc's are connected to mine, and we have .100 and .102. Hit enable, and then hit apply. That should fix it if you want to download something big, but dont leave them open. I havent found a permanent solution, so i think we both have bad routers :) . Hope this helps,
Josh

Hmmm two bad routers? I think its linksys router in general ;). I'm going to be using the router to connect to my server so I don't want to leave all those ports open. I don't do a lot of downloading but it angers me when I'm on and all of a sudden I lost my connection.

I have a linksys router, last time I lost my connection I called the ISP and told them to reset all the mac addresses and crap on their end cause it was screwing up my connection...since then I haven't had any problems...
