Hi-My downloads usually start at 1500kb/s but then they drop to about 200kb/s in a matter of minutes
whats wrong?
Need quite a few details there. What kind of connection are you using? What kind of software are you using to measure the download speed? What kind of a server are you downloading it from?
<IEOnly>
If you are using IE to measure download speed, its tricky. It starts counting the speed only from the point where you click the save button. Note that IE is still downloading in the background while it waits for you to press save button.
so, if you wait for 7 seconds, it downloaded 7 seconds worth of data which is 7*200kbps which is around 1400kb. so the instant you hit save, it shows the current downloaded amount/time elapsed which gives it the high number.
</IEOnly>

ok, I am at RR highspeed, and I use Mozilla to mesure the speed :D
thanks...
BTW. for the server, it is what ever i download, from whereever :D
What is your rated connection speed?

300kb/s
Then you would never get above 275kbps or so. other than incorrectly measured spikes. My guess would be that mozilla is measuring the speed similar to IE. sure 1500kbps sounds good, but how can it even be true on a 300kbps line ;)

well....
I know that RR is capable of giving me 800kb/s but they do not, they limit it to 300kb/s and YES, there is a way to bring it up to 800
thx
