Viewing the Apache Error Log

hi,
I have a file uploading script which uses gd to upload a image and create a thumbnail; the files are created however when i try to view them in the browser i get a apache forbidden error message. Also I tried to install "gallery" but when i went to the setup directory to install it i got the same forbiddeedn error message.

My host is less than helpfl so i was wondering how i myself could view the apache error log to see whats going on .... is there a wayto view this through php?

Do you have the fileadress of the logfiles?
Do you have access to the directory they are in + to the files?

im not sure where the logfile would be located

If you're hosting on a Linux / Unix / *bsd box, you could try this command from a shell prompt to find the apache error log file...


$> find / -name error_log 2> /dev/null


If you have permissions, it will find it.
