Hello.
My printer wont work
i have windows 98 SE
A 233hz processor, 128MB ram. 2.3Gig hardrive space.
I did the non plug and play detection thing. and it came up with nothing. but when i do the plug and play device detection thing, printor port is on the list with an exclamation mark in a yellow circle saying that there is an error. I have the right driver for the printer. an Epson AP 3250 Esc/2
In Control Panel-->System, i clicked on printer port,(which also had the exclamation point) and looked at the properties. It says. This device is either not present, not working properly, or does not have all the drivers installed (Code 24).
I know the port is there. i can see it. I know the drivers are installed. so im guessing its not working properly. duh.
I took off the cover of my computer, and all the cables are connected to the right spots. and connected good.
The printer makes turns on and off when i turn my computer on and off. So there must be some communication between my computer and the printer.
i cant think of anything else to do. Hopefully you guys can help me.

Most likely this is a motherboard issue...

I would start with attempting to reinstall the motherboard chipset drivers... If this proves unsuccesful, check your settings in the bios...

If this doesn't work, then you may be looking at buying a parralell card (Serial/Parralell I/O Card)
