In open window action should be effected in another window

Hi ,
in pop window i went to the next few pages,then i donesome action it shold be effected on where ever i clicked onlink to open popup window,how should i get that values to the actual window(which is i clicked to open pop up window),i wanted to get values from popupwindow.what type of scipt can be used.

While in the popup window, you can reference the main window (the window that opened the popup) using window.opener
